A pair of solid eighteen carat gold, hand made cufflinks in the form of four hearts. These wonderful cufflinks have a gentle concave shape to the hearts and beautifully finished soft, rounded edges all the way around. The links have a hand engraved a hand engraved message of "14th Feb. 1949" on the inside of one of the hearts, indicating that these were initially made as a precious valentines gift. Each panel has a full set of Japanese marks on, as well as '18k'. Due to the scarcity of raw material in Japan it is very rare to find items of precious metal jewellery from this country. Especially after World War Two. Due to that, there is little way to identify the marks. However, due to the hand engraved message, it is safe to say they were made in the 1940's.
