A very high quality, and well designed solid eighteen carat yellow gold key chain with a pair of pliers. This is a masterfully made piece. The small pair of flat nose pliers open, close and lock in place with a safety link at the end of the grips. This is also how they attach to the baroque designed key chain. The very ornate link and key chain hook have a very organic looking appearance.
It would exceptionally costly to produce such a key chain today. Both in terms of the links and key fob, as well as the beautifully made pliers. There is even a cross hatched design to the grip area of the handles into the gold. Not to mention, due to the cost of gold today, there is over one thousand dollars in gold!
To attach the keys, there is a piece that unscrews down to add onto the main hook. They are not signed by any jeweller, or maker, which is very surprising given the amount of time and effort it would have taken to produce them. They are however stamped "750" on the main link of the key chain hook itself. This would lend itself to having been made in Europe. It is hard to date these as well, but one would imagine that they are at least thirty years old, and more than likely older still.
The perfect gift for any electrician, car mechanic, plumber or any handy-person around the house. Perhaps even a whimsical piece for any dentist!
