An exceptionally rare and wonderful quality sterling travel corkscrew made by one America's finest silversmith's; George Shiebler. This is one of the most desirable patterns that Shiebler made, the 'nautical' pattern, featuring a variety aquatic animals; seahorse, fish, an octopus and decorated with sea weed. This piece was then retailed by Tiffany & Co. New York.
This piece is itself rare, but it is made all the more collectible by the addition of the 'Tiffany & Co.' retail mark. The piece unscrews into two pieces, then the cork screw part is pulled out to develop it, and then it simply folds forward into a designated slot. Screw back the other side of the handle, and there is a comfortable and stable corkscrew. The condition of the piece is exceptional throughout. The piece dates circa 1890, made in America.
