A sterling silver Art Deco gentleman's hip flask. This type of flask is very discreet as the removable cup does not give indication of the purpose of the piece. It could be a number of things; such as a cigarette case, or card case. Once this lid is removed, it can also serve the purpose of being a cup. It is lemon gilded inside which not only provides a beautiful aesthetic finish, but also stops the silver from reacting to the alcohol. The flask is in perfect condition. It is possible to engrave and personalise this piece as the silver gauge is thick. The flask bears a perfect set of English hallmarks inside the lemon gilded cup, and a slightly rubbed set on the side where the cup is removed. It was made in Birmingham, England by Robert & William Sorley in 1937.
